David Oluwale film

Oluwale is currently participating in various film festivals domestically and internationally. Oluwale premiered at the Bolton Film Festival in October 2022 and won the award for "Best Documentary” at Kino Film Festival in December 2022

A documentary revealing how Nigerian immigrant David Oluwale was chased and thrown into the River Aire by officers from Leeds police in 1969, and the strange course of justice that followed.  It's a love letter to the city of Leeds framed around this one event.

My Role: Editor/Colourist

Working with Multi Award winning Leeds film maker Jeremiah Quinn, Steven Wyatt and Yorkshire Film Archive this documentary will use archive footage to piece together the events leading up to and after the fateful day in 1969.
